Vorhes to Boyd & Madison Albaugh

This Indenture made the thirteenth day of September in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifty six, between Samuel Vorhes of the county of Jefferson and State of Ohio, of the one part, Witnesseth, that the said Samuel Vorhes for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars to him in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the said Hiriam Boyd and Madison Albaugh their heirs and assigns, all the following described parcel or Lot of Land, with the appurtenances, situate, lying and being in the County of Jefferson and State of Ohio, Lot Number Nine (9) in the Town of Unionport, which will more fully appear on plat of said Town recorded at the proper Office in Steubenville.  To have and to hold the above described parcel or lot of Land and premises with the appurtenances to the said Hiriam Boyd and Madison Albaugh their heirs and assign, to the only proper use and behoof of the said Hiriam Boyd and Madison Albaugh their heirs and assigns, forever.  And the said Samuel Vorhes for himself and for his heirs, executors and administrators do and hereby covenant and agree with the said Hiriam Boyd and Madison Albaugh their heirs and assigns, that he the said Samuel Vorhes is lawfully seized of the above described parcel or Lot of Land and premises to the said Hiriam Boyd and Madison Albaugh their heirs and assigns, shall and will warrant and forever defend against all lawful claims whatsoever.  In Testimony whereof the aforesaid Samuel Vorhes hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written.

On the thirteenth day of September in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifty six before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace within and for said County personally appeared the said Samuel Vorhes, who signed and sealed the foregoing deed and acknowledged the signing and sealing thereof to be his act and deed for the purpose therein expressed.
