John Tipton to Harrison W. Albaugh
Land Records, Jefferson OH Know all men by these present, that we John
Tipton and his wife Mary Tipton of the County of Jefferson and State of Ohio,
for and in consideration of the sum of Eight hundred dollars to them in hand
paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted, bargained and
sold and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto
Harrison W. Albaugh of the County of Jefferson and State of Ohio, his heirs and
assigns all the following described Land with the appurtenances, situate in
Wayne Township, County of Jefferson and State of Ohio and in the Steubenville
Land District and described as follows. Being the one undivided half of Lot No.
57 in the Town of Bloomfield Ohio, in said County as will more fully appear on
an examination of the plat of said Town recorded at the Recorders office in the
City of Steubenville Ohio. To have and to hold the above described Tract of
Land and premises with the appurtenances unto the said Harrison Albaugh his
heirs and assigns forever. And the said John Tipton and Mary Tipton for
themselves, heirs, executors and administrators hereby covenant with the said
Harrison W. Albaugh his heirs and assigns, that they are lawfully seized of the
premises aforesaid, that they are free and clear from all incumbrances
whatsoever and that they will forever warrant and defend the same unto the said
Harrison W. Albaugh his heirs and assigns against all lawful claims whatsoever.
In Testimony whereof the aforesaid John Tipton and Mary Tipton have hereunto set
their hands and seals this Twenty third day of August A.D. 1862. On the 25th day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty two before the subscriber, a Justice of the Peace within and for said County, personally appeared the said John Tipton and Mary Tipton who signed and sealed the foregoing deed and acknowledged the signing and sealing thereof to be there act and deed for the purpose therein expressed. And the said Mary Tipton wife of the said John Tipton being by me examined separate and apart from her said husband and the contents of the said deed being made known to her by reading the same in her presence she did declare upon such separate examination that she did voluntarily sign, seal and acknowledge the same and that she is still satisfied therewith.
