Solomon Albaugh to Richard Potts

Exed & Deld Granted   }                      At the request of Richard Potts the following deed was recorded
March 25th 1830          }                      March 11th 1828, viz.

This Indenture made this tenth day of March eighteen hundred and twenty eight Between Solomon Albaugh of Frederick County in the state of Maryland of the one part and Richard Potts of the same place of the other part  Witnesseth that the said Solomon Albaugh for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred and fifty six dollars current money to him in hand paid by the said Richard Potts before the sealing and delivery of these presents, hath and by these doth grant bargain and sell alien release enfeoff and confirm  unto the said Richard Potts and his heirs all that Western half of Lot number two hundred and eighty nine in Frederick Town fronting on Church Street and extending back to Second Street with the privilege of an alley to the same from Church Street eight feet wide and sixty feet deep secured from the eastern half of said Lot No 289 as the same was conveyed to the said Solomon Albaugh by George Whip Trustee for the sale of real estate of Samuel Keifer of said County deceased by deed dated the eighth day of March instant with all improvements advantages and appurtenances to the same belonging.   To have and to hold the said half Lot of 289 and all other the premises above mentioned to the said Richard Potts, his heirs and assigns forever.  In witness whereof the said Solomon Albaugh hath hereunto subscribed his name and affixed his seal the day and year first herein before written.

State of Maryland Frederick County, to wit ~
On this tenth day of March eighteen hundred and twenty eight personally appeared Solomon Albaugh Grantor in the afore going Deed before us the Subscribers Justices of the Peace of the county aforesaid and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed and at the same time appeared before us Justices aforesaid wife of the said Solomon Albaugh and acknowledged the afore going Deed to be her act and deed and being by us privately examined apart from and out of the hearing of her said husband whether she doth make her acknowledgement of the same willingly and freely and without being induced thereto by fear or threats of a ill usage of her husband or fear of his displeasure acknowledges that she doth.
