John Shober to George Albaugh


Know all men by these presents that we John Shober and Elizabeth Shober both of Clayton County State of Iowa, in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars to us in hand paid by George Allbaugh and his heirs, the following described premises to wit:  The on third of Eighty acres of land lying and situated in Springfield Township Jefferson County, Ohio and designated the South half of the S.E. quarter Section 7, Range 4, Township 12.  And we do hereby covenant with the said George Allbaugh and his heirs that we are lawfully seized of said premises; that they are free from incumbrances; that we have good right and lawful authority to sell and convey the same; and we do here covenant to Warrant and Defend the said premises against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever.

On this 15th day of October A.D. 1853, before me the undersigned a Justice of the Peace in and for said County, personally came John Shober & Elizabeth Shober to me known to be  the identified persons whose names are affixed to the above deed, as grantors and acknowledged the same to be their voluntary act and deed.                                                                Geo. State of Iowa, Clayton County SS.    I F. Andros, Clerk of the District Court in and for said County, do hereby certify that George Shober whose name in his own proper hand writing is subscribed to the certificate in the instrument hereunto attached, was at the date of said Certificate, a Justice of the Peace in and for said County, duly empowered to take acknowledgements of deed and other writings, witnesses to oaths, take Depositions.  In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said Court, on this 20th day of Feb. A.D. 1854.
