In the name of God Amen. I, Laura H. Albaugh, of Mt. Pleasant in the County of
Frederick and State of Maryland, being of sound mind and memory, and considering the
uncertainty of this frail and transitory life, do therefore make, ordain, publish and
declare this to be my last Will and Testament:
- First, I order and direct that my Executor, hereinafter named, pay all my just debts and
funeral expenses as soon after my descent as conveniently may be, and see that my grave be
marked by having a stone erected like that of my father and mother.
- Second, After the payment of my just debts, funeral expenses, and marker for my grave, I
give and bequeath to the Board of Home Missions of the Reformed Church in the United
States, of which Elder C. M. Boush of Meadville, Pa, is treasurer, the sum of Five Hundred
Dollars ($500.00) to be known as the "Albaugh Memorial Church Building Fund."
- Third, I also give and bequeath to the "Fair mount Cemetery Company of Libertytown
Frederick County, Maryland, of which Mr. M. T. Starr, Libertytown, Maryland is treasurer,
the sum of Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00) the interest of which is to be used annually in
keeping clean and in good order the half (1/2) lot #42, Sec. 4 on which are the graves of
my father and mother and my own grave
- (a.) Fourth, I give and bequeath to my sister A. Florence Simpson, wife of Ridgely D.
Simpson, my glasses, breastpins, knives, forks, spoons, dishes, glassware, table linen,
wearing apparel and bedclothes.
(b.) My watch and chain I give and bequeath to the oldest niece living at the time of
my decease, provided she has none of her own. If, therefore, she has a watch, then mine
shall go to the next oldest niece not having one.
(c.) I have my mother's wedding ring (a present from her) this ring I give and bequeath
to her oldest name-sake, Anna Susan Albaugh, daughter of Thomas F. and Nora M. Albaugh.
(d.) My small plain ring I give and bequeath to my niece Susan Elizabeth, daughter of
Irving S. and Elsie O. Albaugh.
(e.) My gold collar and cuff buttons I give and bequeath to my niece Ruth Margaretta,
daughter of William L. and Emma Albaugh.
(f.) My ear rings I give and bequeath to my niece Edna Simpson, daughter of John H. and
Effie E. Albaugh.
(g.) My silver bracelet I give and bequeath to my niece Nina Frances, daughter of
Thomas F. and Nora M. Albaugh.
(h.) My heavy plain gold ring I give and bequeath to my nephew, Walter Albaugh Simpson,
son of Ridgely D. and A. Florence Simpson.
(i.) Finally, All my effects remaining shall then be sold and the proceeds of said sale
together with surplus cash if my shall be divided among my nephews and nieces living at
the time of my decease, share and share alike, and should any of them be dissatisfied
their share (or shares) shall be equally divided among those who are satisfied.
- Lastly, I make, constitute and appoint my oldest brother, living at the time of my
decease (and should there be no brother living, then I make, constitute and appoint my
oldest nephew then living) to be my Executor of this, my last Will and Testament, hereby
revoking all former Wills be me made
In Witness Whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal, this Twenty
fourth day of December in the year of our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred and Eight.

This instrument was on the day of the date thereof signed, published and declared by
the said Testatrix, Laura H. Albaugh to be her last Will and Testament in the presence of
us who at her request have subscribed our names thereto witnesses in her presence and in
the presence of each other.

Codicil - Made this 15th day of January, A.D., 1915
I, Laura H. Albaugh, of Mt
Pleasant, Maryland, being of sound mind and memory, do hereby ~ Request that the Bequest
specified in the foregoing Will executed by me December 24th A.D., 1905, as specified
under sections II and III to wit. A Church Building Fund of Five Hundred Dollars to
the Board of Home Missions of the Reformed Church in the United States, and a bequest of
Twenty five Dollars to the Fairmont Cemetery Company of Libertytown, Maryland * be exempt
from all collateral inheritance tax.
Second. Because of changes
made in the management of the Board of Home MIssions of the Reformed Church in the U.S., I
direct that the Five Hundred Dollar Fund be paid to Elder Joseph S. Wise, of Philadelphia,
Pa, who is treasurer of the Board, and not to Elder C.M. Boush of Meadville, Pa.
In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto
subscribed my name and affixed my seal this fifteenth day of January, in the year of our
Lord one thousand nine hundred and fifteen.

On this 8th day of February, 1915, came John H. Albaugh and made oath in due form of the
law that the aforegoing instrument of writing is the true whole Will and Testament and
Codicil of S. Laura H. Albaugh late of Frederick County, deceased, that has come to his
hands and possession, that he received the same from Susannah Albaugh who found it among
the books and papers of the Testatrix, and that he does not know of any other of a later
date, That said S. Laura H. Albaugh died on about Jan. 29th, 1915.

On the 9th day of February, 1915 came Herman A. Buckey and on the 10th day of February,
1915 came John H. Etzler, and on the 11th day of February came B.R. Camahan the
subscribing witnesses to the aforegoing last Will and Testament of S. Laura Albaugh late
of Frederick COunty, deceased, and made oath in due form of the law that they did see S.
Laura H. Albaugh the testatrix therein named, sign and seal this Will and Codicil, that
they heard her publish, pronounce and declare the same to be her last Will and Testament
and Codicil; that at the time of her so doing she was, to the best of their apprehension,
of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding and capable of executing a valid
deed or contract, and that they respectively subscribed their names as Witnesses to said
Will ans Codicil in the presence of and at the request of the Testatrix and that they did
also see each the other subscribing witness sign his name as Witness to said Will and
Codicil at the request of the Testatrix in her presence, and all in the presence of each
other.

The Register of Wills for Frederick County in the recess of the said Court, after having
carefully examined the above last Will and Testament of S. Laura H. Albaugh, late of
Frederick County, deceased, together with the Codicil thereto attached, and also the
evidence adduced as to its validity, Order and Decrees, this 12th day of February A.D.
1915 that the same be admitted to probate in this Court as the true and genuine last Will
and Testament and Codicil of the said S. Laura H. Albaugh, deceased.
