Reuben Albaugh to Reutan Allensworth
Land Records, Jefferson OH Know all men by these presents that we
Reuben Albaugh and Sarah Albaugh wife of said Reuben Albaugh of the County of
Jefferson, State of Ohio in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars in
hand paid by Reutan Allensworth of the County and State aforesaid have bargained
and sold and do hereby grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said Reutan
Allensworth his heirs and assigns forever, the following premises situate in the
county and State aforesaid and being part of Section number Twenty five Township
number eight and range two described as follows, being a piece taken off the
North side of David Ridenours land, the course and distances as follows to wit,
beginning at a post in the North boundary of David Ridenour land set in the road
leading through Bolingreen to Richmond said post is corner to the lot that
Reuben Albaugh now resides on and running thence South fifteen degrees West
sixteen perches, thence South twenty three degrees West to a post in the road
where a white oak ten inches in diameter bears west thirty four links thence
North Sixty and one half degrees West five perches and two tenths, thence North
3/10 of a degree East twenty five perches and five tenths, thence East thirteen
perches and seventy five hundredths to the place of beginning containing one
acre two rods and twenty perches be the same more or less. To have and to hold
the above described lot of land with the appurtenances to the said Reutan
Allensworth his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Reuben Albaugh for
himself and his heirs doth hereby covenant with said Reutan Allensworth his
heirs and assigns that he is lawfully seized of the premises aforesaid that the
premises are free and clear from all incumbrances whatsoever ~ and that he will
forever warrant and defend the same with the appurtenances unto the said Rutan
Allensworth his heirs and assigns against the lawful claim of all persons
whomsoever. In Testimony whereof the said Reuben Albaugh and Sarah Albaugh have
hereunto set their hands and seals this nineteenth day of April in the year of
our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifty two. Before me John Edmiston a Justice of the
Peace in and for said County personally appeared Reuben Albaugh and Sarah
Albaugh his wife and acknowledged the signing and sealing of the above
conveyance to be their voluntary act and deed and the said Sarah Albaugh being
at the same time examined by me separate and apart from her said husband and the
contents of said instrument made known to her by me she is then declared that
she did voluntarily sign seal and acknowledge the same and that she is still
satisfied therewith this nineteenth day of April A.D. 1852. |
