John Rainsburgh to Eli Albaugh

This Indenture made this tenth day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand and eight hundred and twenty one between John Rainsburgh and Susanah, his wife, of the county Tuscarawas and State of Ohio, of the one part and Eli Albaugh of the County of Jefferson and State of Ohio, of the other part. Witnesseth that the said John Rainsburgh, and Susanah his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of seventy dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the said Eli Albaugh, his heirs or assigns all the following lot tract or parcel of land with the appurtenances, situate, lying and being in the County of Jefferson and State of Ohio. It being their part of the southwest quarter of Section number Seven of Township Number Twelve in Range number Four of the lands directed to be sold at Steubenville for which said quarter Section George Albaugh received a Patent bearing the date at the City of Washington the twenty third day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eleven and out his decease left it to his children and we have sold our part thereof unto Eli Albaugh which is one eighth part of said quarter. To have and to hold the above described lot tract or parcel of land and premises with the appurtenances to the said Eli Albaugh, his heirs or assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Eli Albaugh, his heirs and assigns forever and the said John Rainsburgh and Susanah, his wife, for themselves and their heirs, executors and Administrators doth hereby covenant and agree to and with the said Eli Albaugh, his heirs or assigns that they the said John Rainsburgh and Susanah his wife, the above described lot tract and parcel of land and premises to the said Eli Albaugh, his heirs or assigns shall and will warrant and forever defend against all persons and claims whatsoever. In testimony whereof the aforesaid John Rainsburgh and Susanah, his wife, have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written. Signed, sealed and delivered in presence
of: John Rainsburgh (seal) Before me George Davis a Justice of the Peace in and for said County, personally came John Rainsburgh and Susanah, his wife, and acknowledged the above Instrument of Writing to be their act and deed for the purposes therein contained and the said Susanah, his wife being by me examined separate and apart from her husband did declare that she signed and sealed her act and deed delivered the same without any coercion or compulsion from her said husband.
