Bill of Sale – Peter Albaugh to Dilleplane & Pittinger

Exam’d and Deliv’d  Hodjah Collins }   At the request of Joshua Dilleplane and William
Order 17 Feb’y 1790                      }    Pittinger following Bill of Sale was recorded on
                                                        the  ninth day of August anno Domini seventeen
                                                        hundred and eighty eight

Maryland.              Know all men by these presents that, I, Peter Albaugh of Frederick County and State aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and thirty two pounds Current Money to me in hand paid by Joshua Delaplane and William Pittinger of said County the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge Have bargained and sold and by these presents do bargain and sell unto the said Joshua Delaplane and William Pittinger two bay Horses valued at twenty pounds each, one black mare valued at twenty pounds, three milk Cows valued at five pounds each, three heifers valued at three pounds each, six sheep valued at fifteen shillings each, eleven hogs valued at fifteen pounds and also all my household Furniture valued at thirty pounds To have and to hold the said Horses, Cows, Heifer, Sheep, Hogs & Household Furniture unto them the said Joshua Delaplane and William Pittinger their Heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns forever to their use, and to no other use Intent or Purpose whatsoever Provided *neocillicless* that if the said Peter Albaugh his Heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns do and shall  well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Joshua Dolaplane and William Pittinger their Heirs Executors or Administrators on the ninth day of August which will happen in the year of our Lord seventeen hundred and ninety one the Sum of one hundred and thirty two pounds in Gold or Silver Currency with Legal Interest thereon together with the Costs of drawing and recording this Bill of  Sale

Then the same shall be void and no effect, but if default be made in the payment of the said one hundred and thirty two pounds in Gold or Silver Currency with legal Interest and of drawing and recording these presents on the aforesaid ninth day of August seventeen hundred and ninety one then it shall be lawful for them the said Joshua Dolaplane and William Pittinger their Heirs Executors or Administrators to sell or otherwise dispose of the aforesaid Goods and Chattels.  In Witness whereof the said Peter Albaugh hath hereunto set his Hand and affixed his Seal this ninth day of August seventeen hundred and eighty eight.

Which was thus endorsed

Frederick County              On the ninth day of August seventten hundred and eighty eight then came Peter Albaugh before me the Subscriber, one of the Justices of the Peace for said County and acknowledged the aforegoing Bill of Sale to be his Act and deed, according to the true Intent and Meaning thereof
