Daniel Norrick to Morris Albaugh

 

This Indenture made this ninth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty one between Daniel Norrick and Elizabeth his wife of the County  Knox in the State of Ohio of the one part and Morris Albaugh of the said State and of the County of Harrison and State aforesaid of the other part.  Witnesseth that the said Daniel Norrick and Elizabeth his wife for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge having granted, bargained, sold, released conveyed and do by these presents grant, bargain, sell, release and convey and confirm unto the said Morris Albaugh and his assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land situate and lying in the County of Harrison, the State of Ohio, it being part of the South West quarter of Section one Township thirteen and Range Six.  Beginning at the North **st? corner of said quarter thence East fifty perches thence South thirteen perches and three tenths to a stone thence north? Eighty six degrees West fifty perches and a half to a stone thence North Seventeen perches and a half to the place of beginning and containing four Acres and one hundred and thirty six perches more or less.  Also part of the west half of Northwest Quarter of Section one in Township thirteen of Range Six containing one Acre and seventy perches? more or less lying in the South East corner of the aforesaid half quarter Section being  all the land in the said half quarter section lying on the South side of the road leading from Hanover to Demingoes  Mill in the District Of land offered for Sale at Steubenville Ohio.  To have and to hold the premises aforesaid with al the privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto the said Morris Albaugh and unto his heirs and assigns forever.  And the said Daniel Norrick and Elizabeth his wife doth for themselves and for their heirs executors and administrators covenant and promise to and with the said Morris Albaugh, his heirs and assigns that he the said Daniel Norrick and Elizabeth his wife will well and truly warrant and forever defend the premises herein and there granted unto the said Morris Albaugh and to his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all and every person whomsoever.   In Testimony whereof the said Daniel Norrick and Elizabeth his wife party of the first part have hereunto set their hands and Seals the day and year first above written.

State of Ohio, Know County SS.   On the ninth day of January A.D.1851  Before the Subscriber a Justice of the Peace within and for said county personally appeared the said Daniel Norrick and Elizabeth his wife who signed and sealed the foregoing deed and have acknowledged the signing and sealing thereof to be their act and deed.  And the said Elizabeth wife of the said Daniel Norrick being by me examined separate and apart from her said husband made the contents of said deed being fully made known to her by me.  She did declare upon such separate examination that she did voluntarily sign, seal and acknowledge the same and that she is still satisfied therewith.
