William Myers to Reuben Albaugh

 

This Indenture made the 8th day of October in the year of our Lord One thousand and eight hundred and fifty one between Wm Myers and   _____ his wife of the county of Jefferson and State of Ohio of the on part and Reuben Albaugh of the County and State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth, that the said William Myers and Catharine A. his wife for and in consideration of the sum of Five hundred and fifty dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the said Reuben Albaugh his heirs and assigns, all the following described Lot of Land with the appurtenances situate, lying and being in the County of Jefferson and State of Ohio more particularly described as follows, being a piece taken of the north side of David Ridenour land in Section Numbered Twenty five Township Number Eight and Range Number Two the corners and distances are as follows to wit, beginning at a post in the North boundary of said David Ridenours land set in the sand leading through Bolingreen to Richmond, said post is corner to the lot that  that Reuben Albaugh now lives on running thence South fifteen degrees West sixteen perches thence south twenty three degrees West to a post in the sand where a white oak ten inches diameter bears west thirty four links thirteen perches, thence North sixty and one half degrees West five perches and two tenths, thence North ¾ of a degree East twenty five perches and five tenths, thence East thirteen perches and seventy five hundredths to the place of beginning containing One acre two rods and twenty perches be the same more or less.  To have and to hold the above described lot of land and premises with the appurtenances to the said Reuben Albaugh, his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Reuben Albaugh, his heirs and assigns forever.  And the said William Myers and Catharine his wife for themselves and their heirs, executors and administrators, do hereby covenant and agree with said Reuben Albaugh his heirs and assigns that they the said William Myers and Catharine Ann his wife the foregoing described lot of land and premises to the said Reuben Albaugh his heirs and assigns shall and will warrant and forever defend against all lawful claims whatsoever.  In testimony whereof the aforesaid William Myers and Catharine Ann his wife have hereunto set there hands and seals the day and year first within written.

Before me John Emiston a Justice of the Peace in and for said County personally appeared the above named William Myers and Catharine Ann his wife and has acknowledged the signing and sealing of the above and within conveyance to be their voluntary act and deed, and the said Catharine Ann Myers being at the same time examined by me separate and apart from her said husband and the contents of said instrument made known to her by me she then declared that she did voluntarily sign, seal and acknowledge the same and that she is still satisfied therewith, this 8th day of October A.D. 1851
