Catharine Mowan to George Albaugh

 

Know all men by these presents that I, Catharine Mowan, late widow of George Albaugh, late of Jefferson County, Ohio, deceased, for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and five dollars, good and lawful money of the United States to me the said Catharine Mowan, by George Albaugh of the County and State aforesaid, son of the said George Albaugh deceased, well and truly paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have remised, released and forever quit-claimed, unto the said George Albaugh, all and all manner of Dower and title of Dower, whatsoever which I, the said Catharine Mowan, now have may, might, should or of right ought to have or claim of in or out of all and every the manner messuages lands tenements and hereditaments, which are belonging to the said George Albaugh my former husband at any time during the coulture between him and me the said Catharine Mowan, situate in the County aforesaid, it being the south west quarter of section seven in Township Twelve and Range four, of land directed to be sold, at Steubenville, and also all manner of action or actions writ, and writs of Dower whatsoever., so as neither I, the said Catharine Mowan, nor any other person for me, or in my name any manner of Dower or writ of action of Dower or any right, or title of Dower, of or in the said manner, lands tenements and hereditaments or of or in any part of parcel thereof at any time hereafter, shall or may have claim or persecute against the said George Albaugh, his heirs or assigns.  In witness whereof I, have hereunto set my hand and seal this 21st day of June, A.D. 1827.

Personally came before me the subscriber, a Justice of the peace in and for said County, the within named Catharine Mowan, and acknowledged the signing and sealing of the within instrument of writing to be her act and deed for the purpose therein expressed.
