Morris Albaugh to John Warden

 

This Indenture made this first day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand and eight hundred and thirty and between Morris Albaugh senior and Catharine his wife of the County of Harrison and State of Ohio of the first part and John Werts of the County and State aforesaid of the second part.  Witnesseth that the parties of the first part for and in consideration of fourteen dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and themselves fully satisfied have granted, bargained and sold unto the said John Werts his heirs and assigns a certain lot of ground in the Town of Rumley known by the number forty three it being laid out by Jacob Custer in the south east quarter of Section fourteen and Township Twelve and Range five of the lands directed to be sold at Steubenville To a lot bearing date the tenth day of August one thousand eight hundred and fifteen together with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging.  To have and to hold the lot or parcel of grounds together with all the appurtenances to the said John Wert his heirs and assigns forever and the said Morris Allbaugh and Catharine his wife do agree to and with the said John Werts and will forever warrant and defend against all persons claiming the same in any claim in.  Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals the day and year first above written.

State of Ohio      }   Came before me J.R. Kirkpatrick a Justice of the Peace for Harrison County, State of
Harrison County  }   Ohio Mauris Allbaugh and Catharine his wife and acknowledged the above Instrument
                              of writing to be their free and voluntary act and Deed for the purpose therein contained  and the said Catharine being by me examined separate and apart from her said husband and said that she executed the above on her own and does so voluntary and does so without any coercion from her said husband given under my hand and seal this 12th day of August 1830.                                                                                                       J.
