Nathan L. McGrew to John Allaback

 

Know all men by these presents, that we Nathan L. McGrew and Sarah McGrew wife of said Nathan L. McGrew, Harlan McGrew and Ellizannah McGrew wife of said Harlan McGrew and Samuel McGrew of the county of Carroll and State of Ohio, in consideration of the sum of six hundred Dollars in hand paid by John Allaback of the county of Jefferson and State aforesaid have bargained and sold and do hereby grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said John Allaback his heirs and assigns forever, the following described premises; Being lot number twenty eight (28) situate on the south side of Main Street in the town of Richmond in the county of Jefferson and State aforesaid containing in front Maine Street (60) feet and in length or depth one hundred and sixty (160) feet as marked in the plat of said town.  To have and to hold said premises with the appurtenances unto the said John Allaback his heirs and assigns forever.  And the said Nathan L. McGrew, Harlan McGrew and Samuel McGrew for themselves, and do hereby covenant with the said John Allaback his heirs and assigns that they are lawfully seized of the premises aforesaid, that said premises are free and clear from all incumbrances whatsoever, and that they will forever warrant and defend the same with the appurtenances unto the said John Allaback his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever.  In testimony whereof the said Nathan L. McGrew and Sarah his wife and Harlan McGrew and Ellizannah his wife and Samuel McGrew have hereunto set their hands and seals this twenty seventh day of June in the year Eighteen hundred and fifty nine.

In the State of Ohio, Carroll County SS.
Before me Robert Semple, a Justice of the Peace for said county personally appeared the above named Nathan L. McGrew and Sarah his wife, Harlan McGrew and Ellizannah his wife and Samuel McGrew and acknowledged the signing and sealing the foregoing conveyance to be their voluntary act and deed: and the said Sarah and Ellizannah being by me examined separate and apart from their said husbands and the contents of said instrument made known to them by me they then acknowledged the signing and sealing of the same and that they are still satisfied therewith this 28th day of June A.D. 1859
