Maurice Albaugh to Solomon Albaugh
Land Records, Harrison OH This Indenture made this thirteenth day of
August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four
between Maurice Albaugh and Catharine his wife of Harrison County and State of
Ohio of the one part and Solomon Albaugh of the County and State aforesaid of
the other part. Witnesseth that the said Maurice Albaugh and Catharine his wife
for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred and twenty seven dollars to
them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted,
bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain sell convey and
confirm unto the said Solomon Albaugh his heirs or assigns all the following
described Tract and parcel of Land with the appurtenances situate lying and
being in the County of Harrison and State of Ohio, it being the South half of
the North East quarter of Section Number Seventeen in Township Number twelve of
Range Number five of the Lands described by Congress to be sold at
Steubenville. To have and to hold the above described Tract and parcel of Land
and premises with the appurtenances to the said Solomon Albaugh his heirs or
assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Solomon Albaugh his
heirs or assigns forever. And the said Maurice Albaugh for himself his heirs,
Executors or Administrators doth hereby covenant and agree to and with the said
Solomon Albaugh his heirs or assigns, that he the said Maurice Albaugh the above
described half quarter section of Land and premises to the said Solomon Albaugh
his heirs or assigns shall and will warrant and forever defend against all
persons and claims whatsoever. In Testimony whereof the aforesaid Maurice
Albaugh and Catharine his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals on this
day and date above written. State of Ohio, Jefferson County SS. Before me John Shober, a Justice of the Peace in and for said County, personally came the above named Maurice Albaugh and acknowledged the above Instrument of Writing to be their act and Deed for the purpose therein contained. And the wife Catharine being by me examined separate and apart from her said husband did declare that she signed and as her act and Deed delivered the same without any coercion or compulsion from her said husband.
