Levi & Madison Albaugh to Joshua Rolin
Know all men by these presents, That we Levi and Madison Albaugh
of the County of Jefferson and State of Ohio, for and I consideration of the sum
of Twenty nine hundred Dollars to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is
hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents do
grant, bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto Joshua Rolin of the County of
Jefferson and State of Ohio, his heirs and assigns, all the following described
Land with the appurtenances situate and described as follows, Being a part of
the South West quarter of Section numbered 24, in Township No. 7 and Range No.
3, of the Steubenville land district in the County of Jefferson and State of
Ohio, Beginning at a stone in the South boundary of said Section in the East
bank of Woods Run, 38 5/10 perches East of the South West corner of said
Section, running thence S89 3/10 E. 86 perches with S line of Section to a
stone west back of Cross Creek, N 30 ¼ E. 11 7/10 perches up with said creek N
19 ¾º E., 4 7/10 perches, N 59 ¼º E, 16 1/10 perches, N84 E. 12 4/10 perches,
S75ºE 5 5/10 perches to the center line of the Section. Thence North 100
perches with the center line of the section to Cross Creek, N47 ¾ West 14 8/10
perches with Cross Creek, N 32 ¾ W 14 perches, N 71 ¾ W 8 perches, S23 ¾ W 21
perches, S 10¼ W, 14 perches, S32 W, 36 perches, South 63 W, 36 perches, S 84W
24 5/10 perches to the mouth of Woods’es Run, S7W, 61 perches with Woodses Run
to the place of beginning containing Seventy two acres more or less, Railroad
claims excepted. To have and to hold the above described Tract of Land and
premises with the appurtenances unto the said Joshua Rolin his heirs and assigns
forever And the said Levi Albaugh and Madison Albaugh for their heirs,
executors and administrators hereby covenant with the said Joshua Rolin his
heirs and assigns that they are lawfully seized of the premises aforesaid, that
they are free and clear from all incumbrances whatsoever, and that they will
forever warrant and defend the same unto the said Joshua Rolin, his heirs and
assigns against all lawful claims whatsoever. In Testimony whereof the
aforesaid Levi Albaugh and Sarah his wife and Madison Albaugh and Elisabeth his
wife have hereunto set their hands and seals this Twenty third day of October
A.D. 1863.

The State of Ohio, Jefferson County SS.
On the twenty third day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and sixty three before the subscriber, a Justice of the Peace in and
for said County personally appeared the said Levi Albaugh and Sarah his wife and
Madison Albaugh and Elisabeth his wife, who signed and sealed the foregoing deed
and acknowledged the signing and sealing thereof to be their act and deed for
the purpose therein expressed and the said Sarah & Elisabeth, wives of the said
Levi and Madison Albaugh being by me examined separate and apart from their said
husbands and the contents of the said deed being made known to them by reading
the same in their presence, they did declare upon such separate examination
that they did voluntarily sign, seal and acknowledge the same and that they are
still satisfied therewith.
