Jacob Leiter to Reuben Albaugh
Know all men by the presents that we Jacob Leighter and Elisabeth
Leighter wife of said Jacob Leighter of the County of Jefferson and State of
Ohio, in consideration of the sum of Four hundred dollars in hand paid by Reuben
Albaugh of the same place have bargained and sold and do hereby grant, bargain,
sell and convey unto the said Reuben Albaugh his heirs and assigns, forever the
following premises situate in the County of Jefferson and State of Ohio and in
the Town of Bowling green and bounded and described as follows, to wit, It
being part of Section Twenty five (25) Township Eight (8) and Range two (2)
beginning twenty feet north from the North east corner of the said Jacob
Lighters House, thence one hundred and thirty eight feet West, thence Eighty
feet South, thence East to the line of a piece of land sold and deeded by Martin
Swickard and wife to Frederick Adam, thence North along said line eighty feet,
thence West to the place of beginning estimated to contain one half acre of
land.
To have and to hold said premises with the
appurtenances unto the said Reuben Albaugh his heirs and assigns forever, and
the said Jacob Leighter for himself and his heirs doth hereby covenant with said
Reuben Albaugh his heirs and assigns that he is lawfully seized of the premises
aforesaid that the premises are free and clear from all incumbrances what so
ever and that he will forever warrant and defend the same with the appurtenances
unto the said Reuben Albaugh his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of
all persons whomsoever. In testimony whereof the said Jacob Leighter and
Elisabeth Leighter have hereunto set their hands and seals this thirtyeth day of
October in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifty eight.

The State of Ohio,

Before me Wm Clark a Justice of the Peace in and for said County personally
appeared the above named Jacob Lighter and Elizabeth Leighter his wife and
acknowledged the signing and sealing of the above conveyance to be their
voluntary act and deed, and the said Elizabeth Leighter being at the same time
examined by me separate and apart from her said husband and the contents of said
instrument made known to her by me she then declared that she did voluntarily
sign seal and acknowledge the same and the she is still satisfied therewith this
30th day of October A.D. 1858.
