John Allaback to Mary Jane Hales
Land Records, Jefferson OH Know all men by these presents that we John Allaback and Nancy Allaback wife of the said John Allaback of the County of Jefferson and State of Ohio, in consideration of the sum of Six hundred and sixty dollars in hand paid by Mary Jane Hales of the same place have bargained and sold, and do hereby grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said Mary Jane Hales her heirs and assigns forever, the following premises, situate, lying and being in the Town of Richmond County of Jefferson and State of Ohio, the same being Lot Number Five (5) on the north side of Main Street in the aforesaid town, containing in front in said Street sixty feet and in length or depth One hundred and sixty feet, as recorded in the plat of said town, at the Recorders office within and for said county the same having been deeded to said John Allaback by N.U. Walker. To have and to hold said premises with the appurtenances unto the said Mary Jane Hales, her heirs and assigns forever, and the John Allaback for himself and heirs doth hereby covenant with said Mary Jane Hales her heirs and assigns that he is lawfully seized of the premises aforesaid, that the premises are free and clear from all incumbrances whatsoever , and that he will forever warrant and defend the same with the appurtenances unto the said Mary Jane Hales her heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever. In testimony whereof the said John Allaback and Nancy Allaback have hereunto set their hands and seals the second day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifty one. for said County personally appeared the above named John Allaback and Nancy his
wife and acknowledged the signing and sealing of the foregoing deed to be their
voluntary act and deed, for the purposes therein expressed and the said Nancy
being at the same time examined by me separate and apart from her said husband,
and the contents of said deed made known to her by me, by reading the same in
her presence, she then declared that she did voluntarily sign, seal, and
acknowledge the same and that she is still satisfied therewith. Given under my
hand and seal this second day of April A.D. 1851.
