James Arbaugh to Bazzel Allbaugh
Know all men by
these presents, that we James Arbaugh and Catharine Arbaugh his wife of the
County of Harrison, State of Ohio in consideration of the sum of Thirty four
hundred dollars to us in hand paid by Basel Albaugh of the County of Harrison,
State of Ohio the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do hereby give, grant,
bargain, sell, alien, convey and confirm to the said Basel Albaugh his heirs and
assigns forever, the following described premises, viz. Situate in the County of
Harrison and State of Ohio and being the West half of the South West quarter of
Section thirteen (13) in Township thirteen (13) of Range Six (6) of the land
directed to be sold at Steubenville Ohio, containing Seventy eight acres and
ninety eight hundredths of an acre more or less.
To have and
to hold the above granted and bargained premises together with all the
privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging to the said Basel Albaugh his
heirs and assigns forever. And the said James Arbaugh for himself and his heirs
do hereby covenant with said Basil Albaugh his heirs and assigns that ** and
until the insealing and delivery hereof they are lawfully seized of the premises
aforesaid, that the aid premises are free and clear from all incumbrances
whatsoever and that they will forever warrant and defend the same with the
appurtenances unto the said Basil Albaugh his heirs and assigns against the
lawful claims and demands of all persons whomsoever. In Witness whereof the
said James Arbaugh and Catharine Arbaugh his wife, have hereunto set their hands
and seals this seventh day of October in the year eighteen hundred and sixty
seven.

The State of Ohio, Harrison County SS
Be it remembered that on this 7th day of October in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty seven before me the subscriber, a
Justice of the Peace in and for said County personally came James Arbaugh and
Catharine Arbaugh his wife the Grantors in the above conveyance and
acknowledged the signing and sealing the same to be their voluntary act and deed
for the purpose therein mentioned. And the said Catharine Arbaugh being at the
same time examined by me separate and apart from her said husband hand the
contents of said instrument being by me made known and explained to her she then
declared that she did voluntarily sign, seal and acknowledge the same and that
she is still satisfied therewith. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto
subscribed my name on the day and year last aforesaid.

I hereby certify that the Deed of which the
foregoing is a copy had adhesive stamps attached to the same of the value of
Three Dollars and fifty cents which was duly cancelled according to law. I
further certify that said Deed was entered for Record December 14th
1867 and Recorded the same day.
