AHLBACK (Ohlbach), Johann Wilhelm (b. 1706), came from
Rotterdam to Phila. in the ship "Hope" and took oath of allegiance to Pa., Sept.
23, 1734: on ship's list as "Johan Willhelm Ohlback, age 28:; Chamber in "Early
Germans of N.J.",, p.231, states that William and Zacharias Albach were occupying
parts of the "Society land" in Hunterdon co., N.J. in 1735 (N153-P49S).
AHLBACH (Ohlbach, Alpock?), Zacharias
(b.1698), came from Rotterdam to Phila. in the ship "Hope", and took oath of
allegiance to Pa., Sept. 23, 1734: on ship's list as "Zacharias Ohlbach, age
36"; on same list is Johann Wilhelm (qv) and Anna Dumat Ohlbach, age 37, Anna Eliza
Ohlbach, age 26, Joanis Wilhelm Ohlbach, age 11, Joanis Gerard Ohlbach, age 6, Anna
Margret Ohlbach, age 2, and Joanis Peter Ohlbach, age 2. They probably removed
immediately to the Society Lands of West Jersey (N153-P498).

ALLBACK (Alibock, Allebach), Christian, at Colebrook Dale, Pa., 1728 was
one of the signers of petition to Gov. Gordon for relief from Indian depredations at
Goshenhoppen; paid quit rent on 150 acres in Salford tp., Phila. co., Pa., before
1734 (P492-P496a).
ALLBACH, Johannes, Hanover tp., Phila., Co., Pa., paid quit
rent on 100 acres before 1734 (P492).

ALLEBACH, Jacob, came from Germany with wife, before Am. Rev. and settled
in Germantown, Pa., where their house was later burned by the British; they found refuge
in Berks co., Pa., removing later to Vanango co., Pa., where they d.; m. Verona ??; known
issue: 1 - Henry (b. Montgomery co., Pa., Nov. 5, 1800 d. Emlenton, Pa., Sept. 25,
1888), jeweler, farmer; m. 1823 Sarah Shaner (1802 - 1888), 5 children (P499a).

ALPOCK (Ahlbach or Albach), Morris (d. German Valley now Long Valley,
N.J., 1769); according to family tradition, 3 bros. came from Holland to Pa., abt 1732
(Pa. Archives, II, 17, gives date as 1734 - see Ahlbach); Morris is found as
landowner in German Valley with wife and 3 children named in will, probated 1769; had
issue: 1. John Williams (b.1736/37 - d. June 13, 1811), m. Elisabeth Sharp (b. 1741 - d.
Dec. 19, 1817) 7 children, many descendants; 2. Philip is thought to have m. Elsa
Catherine, dau. of Matthias Cramer, but she was b. 1779; 3. Elizabeth. No
relationship is known to exist between the Alpocks of Cokesbury and High Bridge (both of
which qv), and this family (N153-P498).
ALPOCKS of Cokesbury, N.J.; John Alpock (b. 1739 d. Apr. 1,
1821), came from Germany to the Delaware river, and early settled in Hunterdon co., N.J.;
m. Elizabeth ??, (d. before 1776); m. 2nd ?? (wife's name not of record; issue (by
1st marriage): 1. John Wilhelm (b. Dec. 28, 1768), m. Catherine, dau. of Herbert
Apgar, 7 children; 2. Mary (d. unm.); 3. Sophia (b. May 30, 1771), m.
William, s. of William Alpock of High Bridge, N.J., 6 children; issue (by 2nd marriage):
4. George (b. Jan. 28, 1777), m. dau. of Aaron Sutton, 6 children; 5. Eva (b.
Feb 21, 1779); 6. Peter (b. Feb. 12, 1781), m. Annie, dau. of Peter Apgar, 5
children (N153).
ALPOCKS of High Bridge, N.J.: Three bros., John William,
George and Peter Alpock, came to N.J. prob. with parents; 1. John William (b. 1732
d. Apr. 13, 1817), occupied or bought 184 acres in High Bridge tp., N.J., 1802; m. Anna
Eick (d. abt 1777), 3 children; m. 2nd Else May Henry, 2 children; 2. George,
"settled on road from Bray's Hill to Cokesbury"; m. Anna Maria ??; had at least
one child, Eva (b. Feb 3, 1770); 3. Peter, settled in Alexandria tp.,
Hunterdon co., N.J.; m. Anna ??, 6 children (N153).
ALSBACK, Matthew, came from Rotterdam to Phila. in the ship
"Robert and Alice" of Dublin, and took oath of allegiance to Pa., Sept. 11,
1738; on same list appears the name of ":Reynhart Alsback" (P498).
