Harrison W. Albaugh to Levi Albaugh

Know all men by these presents that we Harrison W. Albaugh and Lucretia Albaugh, wife of said Harrison W. Albaugh, of the County of Jefferson and State of Ohio in consideration of the sum of Three hundred dollars in hand paid by Levi Albaugh of the same place, have bargained and sold and do hereby grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said Levi Albaugh his heirs and assigns forever, the following premises, situate in the County of Jefferson and State of Ohio, and in the Town of Blumfield, Lot No. Fifty six (56) which will more fully appear by a reference to the Town plat recorded in Steubenville Ohio.  To have and to hold said premises with the appurtenances unto the said Levi Albaugh his heirs and assigns, forever.  And the said Harrison W. Albaugh for himself and his heirs doth hereby covenant with said Levi Albaugh his heirs and assigns, that he is lawfully seized of the premises aforesaid that the premises are free and clear from all incumbrances whatsoever, and that he will forever warrant and defend the same with the appurtenances unto the said Levi Albaugh his heirs and assigns, against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever.  In testimony whereof the said Harrison W. Albaugh and Lucretia Albaugh have hereunto set their hands and seals, this fourteenth day of March in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifty six.

Before me John H. Forester, a Justice of the Peace in and for said County personally appeared the within named Harrison W. Albaugh and Lucretia his wife, and acknowledged the signing and sealing of the within conveyance to be their voluntary act and deed and the said Lucretia Albaugh being at the same time examined by me separate and apart from her said husband, and the contents of the said instrument made known to her by me she then declared that she did voluntarily sign seal and acknowledge the same, and that she is still satisfied therewith, this 14th day of March, A.D. 1856.
