Golden Wedding

                                                 GOLDEN WEDDING - For the Republican

      On Thursday, the 21st occurred on of the most enjoyable gatherings of the season, it being the event of the fiftieth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Albaugh, of Monroe township.
      Mr. Albaugh was born in Blair County, Penn., April 13, 1813.  Mrs. Albaugh was born in the same county, Sept. 12, 1820, making their ages 75 and 68 years respectively.   They moved to Iowa in the sprint of 46 and entered the land from the government they now live on.  His farm consists of 200 acres of nice land and is now valued at $60 per acre.
      Over one hundred friends and relatives enjoyed the anniversary day with them.
      During these fifty years of married life they have been blessed with ten bright and prosperous children - five boys and five girls, all of whom are living and all whom are present except two.
      The children are all married and considerably scattered.    Twenty-nine out of the forty grandchildren and one out of the four great-grandchildren living were present.   Mrs John Burkhart, the oldest of the family, is living at Zering, Story county, Iowa, where Mr. B. is engaged in the lumber business; Mrs. Jane Mentzer is the second one in the family and is now living among the orange groves of Florida; John, Tora ???, Will and Frank and Mrs. J. B. Miller, Mrs. J. B. Hoilsinger and Mrs. John Stamy are all living within a few miles of their old home.    Dave is in the employ of the Iowa Cantral railroad of Keithsburg, Ill.
      Mr. Albaugh was a number of years a member and deacon in Christian Church. For the past seventeen years he ahs been a member of the German Baptist church and is now a deacon in that church.  He has always been one of the foremost of his community in every good cause, in appreciation of which his friends presented him and his amiable wife some very handsome presents valued at ????. The presents consisted of a couple of very fine easy chairs and a beautiful hanging lamp.
      Dr. H. Ristine, their family physician and his wife, of Cedar Rapids. Quilla Miller, of Fairfax, and quite a number from Marion were present.   Among his old neighbors and ???? acquaintances were present Thomas Harrison, S?????? Miller, Hon., A. J. Donalson and J. ? Robins.
      A very ?????? spread table was arranged by Mrs. Will and Frank Albaugh, and all came away feeling that they had been highly entertained, both socially and bodily.  May the rest of this aged couples life be spent as happily as the past is the with of all.
