Ezekiel Evans to Bazil Albaugh
 

     Know all men by these presents that we Ezekiel Evans and Charlotte Evans his wife of the County of Harrison and State of Ohio, in consideration of the sum of Five hundred Dollars in hand paid by Bazil Albaugh of the same place, have bargained and sold, and do hereby convey unto the said Bazil Albaugh his heirs and assigns forever, the following premises, situated in the County of Harrison, and State of Ohio, and in the district of Lands subject to sale at Steubenville Ohio.  To wit:. A part of Sections 4 & 5, Township 12, and Range 6 of said Land District.  Beginning for the same at the North West corner of the North East quarter of said Section 4, and running thence North 1º East …8 perches, thence South 88¼º East 82.12 perches, thence South 1º East 38.24 perches, thence South 73º West 65.20 perches, thence South 58¼º West 26.44 perches, thence North 1º East 65 perches to place of beginning containing 27 acres, 2 roods, and 17 perches.
     To have and to hold said premises with the appurtenances unto the said Bazil Arbaugh his heirs and assigns forever.  And the said Ezekiel Evans for himself and his heirs doth hereby covenant with the said Bazil Albaugh his heirs and assigns, that he has good right to sell the same, and that he will forever warrant and defend it with the appurtenances unto the same Bazil Albaugh, his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whatsoever.  In Testimony whereof the said Ezekiel Evans and Charlotte Evans, have hereunto set their hands and seals this 8th day of May A.D. 1862.

State of Ohio, Harrison County, SS.
     Before me F. Grace a Justice of the Peace in and for said County personally appeared the within named Ezekiel Evans and Charlotte Evans and acknowledged the signing and sealing of the within deed to be their voluntary act and deed,  And the said Charlotte Evans being at the same time examined by me, separate and apart from her said husband, and the contents of said instrument made known to her by me, she did then declare that she did voluntarily sign and seal and acknowledge the same, and that she is still satisfied therewith this 8th day of May A.D. 1862.
