Eli Albaugh to John Johnson
This Indenture made this eighteenth day of November in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty, between Eli Albaugh and
Hannah his wife of Jefferson County and State of Ohio of the one part, and John
Johnston of the same place of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Eli
Albaugh and Hannah his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred
and fifty dollars to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged, have granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant,
bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the said John Johnston his heirs or
assigns all the following described tract of land with the appurtenances,
situate lying and being in the County and State aforesaid being the West half of
the Northeast quarter of Section nineteen, in Township Twelve, in Range Four of
the district of lands offered for sale at Steubenville, Ohio for which said half
quarter the said Eli Albaugh obtain from the President of the United States a
patent dated at the City of Washington the twentieth day of March Anno Domini,
one thousand eight hundred and twenty six. To have and to hold the above
described tract and half quarter section of land and premises with the
appurtenances thereunto belonging the said Eli Albaugh and Hannah his wife for
themselves and their heirs, executors and Administrators, Do hereby covenant and
agree to, and with the said John Johnston his heirs or assigns, shall and will
warrant and forever defend against all lawful claims whatsoever. In Testimony
whereof the said Eli Albaugh and Hannah his wife have hereunto set their hands
and seals the day and year first above written.

(L.S.) Personally came before me the undersigned a Justice of the Peace in and
for said County the above Eli Albaugh and Hannah his wife acknowledged the above
instrument of writing to be their act and deed for the purposes therein
contained, and she the said Hannah being by me examined separate and apart from
her said husband and declared that she signed and as her act and deed delivered
the same without any coercion or compulsion from her said husband, did declare
that she signed and as her act and deed delivered the same without any
compulsion or coercion from her said husband. Given under my hand and seal this
18th day of November, A.D. 1830
