Thompson Douglass to John Allaback

 
This Indenture made this 12th day of June in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifty four by and between Thompson Douglas and Rebecca his wife, of the County of Jefferson in the State of Ohio of the one part, Witnesseth, that the said Thompson Douglass and Rebecca his wife for and in consideration of the just sum of four hundred dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge have given granted, bargained, sold, released and conveyed, and do by these presents give, grant, bargain, sell, release, convey and confirm unto the said John Allaback and his heirs and assigns, forever, the following premises situate within the County of Jefferson and State of Ohio and described as follows, namely,  Being part of Lot number Four (4) in Shelleys addition to the town of Richmond, and bounded as follows, namely, Fronting on Main Street thirty (30) feet and Lisbon Street one hundred and sixty four feet (164) and on the alley Sixty (60) feet thence with lot number Three (3) to Main Street It being the same deeded to Thompson Douglas by Samuel Shelley deed bearing date August 25th 1853.  To have and to hold the premises aforesaid with all the privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining, unto him the said John Allaback his heirs and assigns forever.  And the said Thompson Douglas and Rebecca  his wife for themselves and for their heirs, executors and administrators covenant and promise to, and with the said John Allaback his heirs and assigns, that they the said Thompson Douglas and Rebecca his wife are lawfully seized of the premise aforesaid, that they have good right and lawful authority to sell and convey the same in manner aforesaid, and that the premises are free and clear of and from all incumbrances whatever.  And further, That they the said Thompson Douglas and Rebecca his wife will well and truly warrant and forever defend the premises herein and hereby granted unto the said John Allaback and to his heirs and assigns against the lawful claim and demand of all and every person whomsoever.  In testimony whereof the said Thompson Douglas and Rebecca his wife, party of the first part, have hereunto set their hands and seals, the day and year above written.

The State of Ohio Jefferson County ss
Before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and for said County personally appeared the above named Thompson Douglas and Rebecca his wife and acknowledged the signing and sealing of the foregoing conveyance to be their voluntary act and deed, and the Rebecca Douglass being by me examined separate and apart from her said husband and the contents of said instrument made known to her by reading the same in her presence she did declare upon such separate examination that she did voluntarily sign seal and acknowledge the same to be and that she is still satisfied therewith this 12th day of June A.D. 1854.
