Adam Creager to Abraham Albaugh

At the request of Abraham Albaugh the following deed was This Indenture made this Sixteenth day of
February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and two, Between
Adam Creager of Frederick County and State of Maryland of the one part and
Abraham Albaugh of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth
that the said Adam Creager for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty dollars
current money to him in hand paid by the said Abraham Albaugh the receipt
whereof is hereby acknowledged Hath granted bargained sold aliened released
and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien release and
confirm unto him the said Abraham Albaugh and his heirs, all his the said Adam
Creager’s Estate Right Title Interest and claim of in and to all that part piece
or parcel of Land being part of a tract of Land called “Huckleberry Hills”
situate lying and being in the county aforesaid. Beginning for said part piece
or parcel of land at a stone planted at the end of the thirteenth line of the
aforesaid Adam Creagers part of said Huckleberry Hills and on the South Side of
the Main Road and running thence north sixty eight perches South seven degrees
West fifty perches then by a straight line to the beginning containing one acre
and an half acre of land more or less Together with the rights members
privileges advantages and appurtenances to the same piece or parcel of land
belonging or appertaining and the revision and revisions, remainder and
remainders, rents, issues and profits thereof and all the Estate right Title
Interest use trust profession property claim and demand whatsoever of him the
said Adam Creager of in and to the same. To have and to hold the said piece or
parcel of Land and premises with the rights, members and appurtenances to him
the said Abraham Albaugh, his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and
behoof of the said Abraham Albaugh his heirs and assigns forever and to and for
no other use intent or purpose whatsoever And the said Adam Creager doth hereby
for himself and his heirs, Covenant grant and agree to and with the said
Abraham Albaugh his heirs and assigns to Warrant and defend to him and them the
said piece or parcel of land herein before described and hereby intended to be
conveyed against all persons claiming or to claim the same by from or under the
said Adam Creager his heirs shall and will at time hereafter at the request and
cost of the Abraham Albaugh his heirs and assigns make do suffer execute and
acknowledge any other deed or dues, assurance or assurances, which may be
necessary for the more effectual conveying and assuming to the said Abraham
Albaugh his heirs and assigns all his the said Adam Creagers Estate Title and
Interest in the piece or parcel of land herein before described and hereby
intended to be conveyed so as such deed or deeds assurance or assurances contain
no other or greater Warranty than is herein. In Witness whereof the said Adam
Creager hath hereunto subscribed his name and affixed his seal the day and year
first within written. The aforegoing deed was thus endorsed to wit: Frederick County to wit Be it remembered that on the sixteenth day of February 1802 Adam Creager party to the aforegoing deed appeared before us the subscribers two of the Justices of the County aforesaid and acknowledge the same according to the Act of Assembly in such case provided. On the same day Christina Creager wife of the said Adam Creager appeared before us and being privately examined apart from and out of the presence and hearing of her husband released her Right of Dower in the land within conveyed and declared that she made such her acknowledgement willingly and freely and without being induced thereto by fear or threats from her said husband his ill usage or fear of his displeasure Michl Bayer Mid** Smith
