Bill of SaleChristian Compher to John Albaugh Senior
Land Records, Frederick MD At the request of John Albaugh senior the following Bill of Sale was recorded 11th January 1788 to wit ~~ Know all men by these presents that I Christian Compher of Frederick County and State of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of thirteen pounds seven shillings current money of Maryland to me in hand paid by John Albaugh senior of this same county and state aforesaid, the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have bargained sold and delivered and by these presents do bargain sell and deliver unto the said John Albaugh senior one brinnell Cow seven years old, one Heifer three years old, one calf one year old, one silk rug one d.’ and blanket, two Iron pots, one skillet and one frying pan, two pewter basons, two pewter plates and eight d.’ Spoons, one poplar chest one pair of Fire Tongs and shovel, one grass Lythe?, one Brass Candle Stick, one Sinnon Wheel, one Hand saw, and one Feather bed, and six pillows To have and to Hold the said bargained promises unto the said John Albaugh his executors administrators and Assigns forever. And I the said Christian Compher for myself my executors and administrators shall and will warrant and forever defend against all persons by these presents the said bargained promises unto the said John Albaugh his executors administrators and Assigns: In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and fixed my seal this 4th day of January in the year of our Lord seventeen hundred and eighty eight Signed sealed and delivered }
his Christian Compher (seal) On the back whereof was thus endorsed to wit ~~ On the 4th day of January 1788 Came the within
named Christian Compher before me and acknowledged the within Bill of Sale to be
his Act and Deed, and the Goods and Effects thereby bargained and sold to be the
right and property of the within named John Albaugh his heirs and Assigns,
according to the true intent and meaning thereof
