Christopher Salsberry to Christian Albaugh

 

This Indenture made this nineteenth day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand and eight hundred and forty between Christopher Salsberry and Catharine, his wife, of Washington County, in the State of Ohio, of the one part and Christian Albaugh of the County, of Jefferson, and the State aforesaid of the other part.  Witnesseth that the said Christopher Salsberry and Catharine, his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of Seventy five dollars to them in hand paid by the said Christian Albaugh, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained, sold, released, aliened and confirmed and bu these presents do grant, bargain, sell, release, convey and confirm unto the said Christian Albaugh and unto his heirs and assigns a certain lot of ground, situated on the south side of Second Street or Old Market Street, in the town of Annapolis County of Jefferson and State of Ohio, and marked in the plot of said Town and numbered fifty seven containing in front on said Second Street sixty feet and in length or depth one hundred and thirty two feet.  To have and to hold the said demised lot with all the hereditaments and premises hereby granted with the appurtenances and privileges thereunto belonging unto the said Christian Albaugh, his heirs and assigns to and for the only proper use and behoof of the said Christian Albaugh, his heirs and assigns forever.  In witness whereof the said Christopher Salsberry and Catharine his wife, have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.

The State of Ohio, Washington County, SS.
I, W. Little, a Justice of the Peace in and for the County of Washington aforesaid do hereby certify that Catharine Salsberry, the wife of Christopher Salsberry , parties to the within deed personally appeared before me in the County aforesaid and being examined by me separate and apart from her said husband and having the said deed fully explained to her she declared that she did voluntarily sign, seal and acknowledge the same.  Also at the same time and place came the said Christopher Salsberry and acknowledged the signing and sealing of the same said instrument as his act and deed and I do further certify that I, am satisfied from my own personal knowledge that the persons making the foregoing acknowledgement are the persons they represent themselves to be.  Witness my hand and seal this 19th day of September, A.D. 1840.
