Christian Albaugh to William Fout

request of William Fout the following Bill of Sale is recorded Know all men by these presents that I Christian Albaugh of Frederick County & State of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of eighty three pounds five shillings & four pence current money to me in hand paid by William Fout of the County and State aforesaid before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I the said Christian Albaugh do hereby acknowledge have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the said William Fout his executors, administrators and assigns two black Geldings the one 7 and the other 8 years old, two gray Geldings both 6 years old with all their Harness, one wagon with the cover screw and feed Trough, three feather beds and bedding, one blue corner cupboard & one case of drawers all which are now in my possession. To have and to hold the above described property and every part thereof to the said William Fout his executors, administrators & assigns against me the said Christian Albaugh my Heirs, executors & Administrators and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents Provided Nevertheless that in case I the said Christian Albaugh shall pay & satisfy to the said William Fout or to his executors, administrators or assigns the sum of eighty three pounds five shillings & four pence current money with interest for the same from this thirteenth day February Inst: on or before the thirteenth day of February next 1816 ensuing, then this Bill of Sale and every matter and thing therein expressed shall be void and of none effect it being, the true intent and meaning, thereof that the said above specified property is mortgaged by me said Christian Albaugh to secure to the said William Fout the payment of the money aforesaid ~ In witness whereof I the said Christian Albaugh have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this thirteenth day of February in the year 1815 ~ Signed, sealed & delivered

Albaugh (seal) Which is thus endorsed, to wit ~ Maryland, Frederick County, to wit, On the
thirteenth day of February 1815 appeared Christian Albaugh before me the
subscriber on of the Justices of the Peace for said County and acknowledged the
within Instrument of Writing to be his act and deed for the purpose therein
mentioned according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the act of
Assembly in such case made and provided. ~
