Christian Albaugh to David Albaugh


Know all men by these presents that we Christian Albaugh and Catharine Albaugh, wife of Christian Albaugh of the County of Jefferson Ohio in consideration of the sum of Six hundred dollars in hand paid by David Albaugh of the same place, have bargained and sold, and do hereby grant and convey unto the said David Albaugh his heirs and assigns for ever the following premises, Situate in the County of Jefferson, in the State of Ohio, and in the Steubenville land district and bounded and described as follows; The West half of the South East quarter of Section Twenty five (25) of Township Ten (10) of Range Three (3) in said district containing Eighty acres more or less.  To have and to hold said premises with the appurtenances unto the said David Albaugh his heirs and assigns forever.  And the said Christian Albaugh for himself & heirs doth hereby covenant with said David Albaugh his heirs and assigns that he is lawfully seized of the premises aforesaid, that the premises are free from all incumbrances whatsoever and that he will forever warrant and defend the same unto the said David Albaugh his heirs and assigns, against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever.  In Testimony whereof the said Christian Albaugh and Catharine Albaugh have hereunto set their hands and seals this seventeenth day February A.D. one thousand eight hundred and sixty.

                                               Before me John Gruber, a Notary Public in and for said County, personally
   Notarial Seal                         appeared the within named Christian Albaugh and Catharine his wife and
     John Gruber                        acknowledge the signing and sealing of the within conveyance to be there
Jefferson Co Ohio                     voluntary act and deed; and the said Catharine being at the same time
                                               examined by me, separate and apart from her husband, and the contents
                                               of said instrument made known to her by me, She declared that she did
                                               voluntarily sign, seal and acknowledge the same, and that she is still 
                                               satisfied there with, this 17th day of Febraury A.D. 1860 ~~
