Christian Albaugh to Mary Ann Shields
Land Record, Jefferson OH
Know all men by these presents, that we
Christian Albaugh and Catharine Albaugh, wife of said Christian Albaugh, of the
County of Jefferson, Ohio in consideration of the sum of Seventy five dollars in
hand paid by Mary Ann Shields of the same place, have bargained and sold and do
hereby grant & convey unto the said Mary Ann Shields her heirs and assigns
forever, the following premises, Situate in the Town of New Salem (now
Annapolis) in the County of Jefferson & State of Ohio, a certain Lot of ground
situate on the South side of Second Street (or old Market Street) and known by
its number Fifty seven (57) on the plat of said Town, containing in front on
said Second Street sixty feet and in length or depth one hundred & thirty two
feet. To have and to hold said premises with the appurtenances unto the said
Mary Ann Shields her heirs and assigns forever. And the said Christian Albaugh
for himself & heirs doth hereby covenant with said Mary Ann Shields, her heirs
and assigns, that he is lawfully seized of in premises aforesaid, that the
premises are free & clear from all incumbrances whatsoever, and that he will
forever warrant and defend the same, with the appurtenances, unto the said Mary
Ann Shields her heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons
whomsoever. In Testimony whereof the said Christian Albaugh and Catharine
Albaugh have hereunto set their hands and seals this seventeenth day of February
A.D. one thousand eight hundred & sixty.
