Catharine Albaugh to George Albaugh

 

This Indenture made the third day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine between Catharine Albough of the County of Jefferson and State of Ohio of the one part and Geo Albough of the County and State aforesaid of the other part; Witnesseth, that the said Catharine Albough for and in consideration of the sum of fifty five dollars to her in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the said George Albough his heirs or assigns all the following described tract of land, with the appurtenances, situate, lying and being in the County and State aforesaid, Being the one eighth part of the South west quarter of section seven Township twelve Range four, of the lands directed to be sold at Steubenville, it being my share of said quarter section of land, to which I was entitled by the decease of my Father George Albough and have now by these presents sold to George Albough my brother ~   To have and to hold the above described tract of land and premises, with the appurtenances, to the said George Albough his heirs and assigns, to the only proper use and behoof of him the said George Albough his heirs and assigns forever.  And the said Catharine Albough for herself and her heirs, executors and administrators, Do, and hereby covenant and agree to and with the said George Albough his heirs and assigns, that she the said Catharine Albough the above described tract of land and premises, to the said George Albough his heirs and assigns, shall and will warrant and forever defend against all lawful claims whatsoever.  In Testimony whereof, the aforesaid Catharine Albough has hereunto set her hand and seal the day and year first above written.

The State of Ohio, Jefferson County
On the third day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine personally, appeared before me, one of the Justices of the Peace in said County, the above named Catharine Albough who acknowledged the above instrument of writing to be her voluntary act and deed for the purpose therein expressed and requested that the same might be recorded as such.  Given under my hand and seal, the day and year above written.
