Carroll Albaugh
December 12, 1930 News Article (Photo) The funeral services of Mr. Carroll Albaugh, only son of Mr.George W. Albaugh and the late Ella Troxell Albaugh, was held Sunday afternoon from his late residence on East Main Street, in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends. The floral tributes filled two rooms and never has such elaborate designs been seen in this city. Mr. Albaugh's pastor, Rev. Dr. C. M. Elderdice, of the Methodist Protestant church, was in charge of the services and opened them with the ritual service followed by the 23rd Psalm. Rev. Dr. H. L. Elderdice president of the Westminster Theological Seminary, read a portion of the scripture and then offered a most beautiful and fitting prayer. Rev. Thomas Long, superintendent of the Strawbridge Home for Boys, Eldersburg, assisted in the service which was concluded with a prayer by the Rev. C.M. Elderdice. The pallbearers were Frank W. Mather, T.W. Mather, George K. Mather, J. Pearre Wantz, Sr., Dr. C. L. Billingslea, C. Ray Fogle, Herbert Anders and J. Sellman Biehl. Mr. Albaugh died very suddenly about three hours after retiring on Friday night from an acute heart attack. Mr. Albaugh was a member of Westminster Chamber of Commerce; a past president of the Westminster Rotary Club, and a director of the Consolidated Public Utilities Company; Westminster Deposit and Trust Company, Smith and Yingling Company, Lumber Coal & Supply Company, and Democratic Advocate Company, was vice president of the Albaugh-Babylon Grocery Company and vice president of the Charles E. Goodwin Insurance Company. He was a trustee and active member of the Methodist Protestant church, and also a member of the Board of Trustees of Western Maryland College. |
