John Blythe to George Albaugh

Know all men by these presents that we John Blythe & Isabella Blythe wife of said John Blythe  of the County of Jefferson & State of Ohio in consideration of the  sum of one thousand dollars in hand paid by George Albaugh of the same county & state hath sold and do hereby sell, grant & convey unto the said George Albaugh his heirs and assigns forever the following described property being the north half of the south east quarter of section No. twelve (12) of Township No. Eleven in Range No. (4) in the county of Jefferson Ohio of lands directed to be sold in Steubenville Ohio.

To have and to hold said premises with the appurtenances unto the said George Albaugh his heirs & assigns & the said John Blythe for himself & heirs does hereby covenant with said George Albaugh that he is lawfully seized of the premises aforesaid & that he will forever warrant & defend the same unto the said George Albaugh his heirs & assigns forever against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever.

In testimony whereof the said John Blythe & Isabelle Blythe have hereunto set their hands & seals this twenty seventh day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & sixty six.

The State of Ohio, Jefferson County SS.
Before me, J.B. Rabbitt a Justice of the Peace for the county aforesaid personally came the within named John Blythe & Isabelle his wife & acknowledged the signing & sealing of the within conveyance and to be their voluntary act & deed & the said Isabelle Blythe being at the same time being examined by me & the contents of said instrument made known to her by me she then declared that she did voluntarily sign seal & acknowledge the same & that she is still satisfied therewith this 27 day of February 1866.
