Basel Allbaugh to George Heckler 

Know all men by these presents, that we Basel Allbaugh & Nancy Allbaugh his wife Harrison Co., O. in consideration of the sum of Six hundred Dollars in hand paid by George Heckler of the same place, have bargained & sold & do hereby bargain, sell & convey unto said George Hackler his heirs & assigns forever the following premises situates in the Harrison Co., Ohio & in the Steubenville Land District & in the Town of New Market & described as follows Viz: Being In Lot No. twelve (12) as designates on the plat of said Town.

To have and to hold with the appurtenances unto the said George Heckler his heirs & assigns forever.  And the said Basel Allbaugh & Nancy his wife do hereby for themselves covenant with the said George Heckler that they as lawfully seized of the premises aforesaid & that they are free & clear from all incumbrances whatsoever.  In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands & seals this 11 day of Dec. A.D. 1865.

Before me S.G. Smith, a Justice of the Peace in & for Harrison Co. Ohio personally appeared the above named Basel Allbaugh & Nancy Allbaugh his wife & acknowledged the signing & sealing of the foregoing Deed of Conveyance to be their voluntary act & deed.  And the said Nancy Allbaugh being at the same time examined by me separate & apart from her said husband & the contents of said Deed being made known to her, she then & there declared that she did voluntarily sign, seal & acknowledge the same & that she is still satisfied therewith this 11th day of December 1865.              S.G. I do hereby certify that the Deed of which the above is a copy had an adhesive stamp attached to the same of the value of One Dollar which was legally cancelled.  I further certify that said Deed was entered for Record Sept. 6th 1866 and Recorded Sept 8th A.D. 1866                       Joseph Rea, Recorder
