Bill of Sale – Baker to WM Albaugh

At the request of William Albaugh the following Bill of Sale was recorded February the twenty third Anno Domini  Seventeen Hundred and fifty four, To Wit ~~

Know all men by these presents that I George Baker of Frederick County in the Province of Maryland farmer hath bargained sols and by these presents doth Bargain and Sell unto William Allbaugh of the County and Province aforesaid farmer for and in consideration of the Sum of Twenty four pounds Sixteen Shillings Current money of Maryland which I acknowledge to owe to the afsd William Allbaugh, Viz. One Iron Grey Horse Branded on the near buttock thus U (upside down) being five years old, One black mare branded on the near shoulder and buttock thus S being four years old, one black Mare with a small Star in her forehead Branded on the near Shoulder thus PB being eleven years old, one Dark Brown Cow marked with a Cross on the left ear and half cross on the right ear, one black cow with a White List on her back and of the afsd Mark one black cow with some white under her Bellow and of the aforesd Mark, one Pale Read Cow and of the afd Mark one Dark red Heffer of the afd Mark and two yearling heffers and one yearling steer thus all of the aforesaid Mark, and also Eighteen acres of winter grain consisting of  Wheat rye and Barley and also all my household goods and furniture of what kinds forever and all my plantation utentials whatsoever which said Creature and household goods and Plantation Utentials aforesaid George Baker for my self my heirs Executors Administrators to the aforesaid William Albaugh his Heirs Executors Administrators adm. Will Warrant and Defend from all Persons whatsoever Laying any Right Title or Claim thereunto Provided always that the afd George Baker his heirs Exec. Adm shall pay or cause to be paid unto the afd William Albaugh his heirs Executors Adm the afd  Sum of twenty four pounds Sixteen Shillings with Legal Interest and that at or before the twenty Ninth day of September next that then the above Instrument of Writing to be paid and of none effect Use to be and remain in full force and Virtue.  In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this Eighteenth day of February one thousand seven hundred and fifty four.
