Bill of Sale – Abraham Albaugh to Wm

                                    At the request of William Albaugh, of Abm & Eleanor Albaugh the
                                    following Bill of Sale is recorded 7th September 1811, to wit ~

Know all men by these presents that I Abraham Albaugh of Frederick County and State of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum Five hundred Dollars current money to me in hand paid by William Albaugh of Abraham, and Eleanor Albaugh of the county and state aforesaid, at and before the sealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof.  I do hereby acknowledge, have granted bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the said William Albaugh and Elenor  Albaugh their and each of their Executors, administrators, and assigns.  One bay gelding seven years old, one moun? Mare fourteen years old, one Mans Saddle, Bridle and saddle bags, eleven head of Sheep, one yearling heifer, one sow and eight shoats, four pieces of corn in the ground supposed to contain about twenty acres, about one half acre of potatoes in the ground , five tons of hay in two stable  Lofts a quantity of long and short straw in two stable lofts and over the threshing floor of barn, four sets horse geer, one grind stone, one wind mill, two ploughs Irons & 6 clevices  and swingle trees, one shovel plough, one Iron tooth harrow, one dung shovel, two dung forks, three pitch forks, five cow chains, three narrow axes, two broad axes, two malls and rings, three iron wedges, five garden and plantation hoes, three mattocks, three drawing knives, four augers, two hand saws, six pieces bacon, two feather beds Bedsteads & furniture, two children beds bedsteads and furniture, one cot bed and furniture, one house clock and case, one large walnut corner cupboard, or cafett, one walnut desk, one large walnut chest, one oak chest, three dining  tables of walnut, one walnut candle stand, one ten plate stove & pipes, eight split bottom common chairs, one split bottom arm chair, two looking glasses one mahogany frame and one varnished frame, one woolen wheel, one linen wheel, one check reel, one silver watch, six silver table spoons,  eleven silver tea spoons, one small poplar cupboard painted, one large German bible, one small German bible, six German prayer books and Psalm books, two dozen knives and forks, eighteen delf plates, one tea pot, two dozen cups and saucers, one quart & one pint glass decanters, four glass tumblers, one pewter sugar bowl, one pewter cream jug, one pewter soap ladle, three half gallon stone jugs, one kitchen dresser poplar painted red, four pewter dishes, three pewter basons, fourteen pewter plates, one pewter quart, eight pewter spoons, two copper tea kettles, one iron tea kettle, one copper kettle, one iron kettle, four Iron pots, one dutch oven, two frying pans, two Iron Ladles, one flesh fork, two brass ladles, two grid irons, one cake baker Iron, one fire shovel, one tongs, one tin bracket, four wooden buckets, four tin cups, two tin candlesticks, two Iron candle sticks, two pair sheep shears, one flat Iron, one box Iron, one bread tray, five bread baskets, three washing tubs, one pair steelyards, one pair scales and weights, two cedar churns, six cyder barrels, three kegs, two Iron pot racks, one cabbage or crout tub, one coffey Mill, two meat choppers, one tin Louthorn, one old set Black Smith Tools, one silver tilled sword, one shot gun, one brace of pistols, twenty five pound woolen yarn, twenty two dozen flax thread & four dozen cotton yarn at weavers, twenty pound flax tow, seventy bundles in threshed flax, one flax brake, one long house ladder, one pair hay ladders, one pair of wood wagon ladders, one cutting box, twelve meal bags, one wagon sheet, Eleven hundred chestnut & oak shingles, two wire riddles,  one scythe & cradle, two dutch scythes with sneads, one scythe hammer, one scythe anvil, and two flux heckles, all which property is now in my possession.  To have and to hold the same described property above bargained and sold to the said William Albaugh and Elenor Albaugh their and each of their Executors, Administrators and assigns forever; to them and their only proper use and benefit, And I the said Abraham Albaugh, for myself, my executors and administrators, shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents to the said William Albaugh and Elenor Albaugh their Executors administrators and assigns, the said described property against me, my executors and administrators, and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever, claiming the same or any part thereof.  In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the twentieth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eleven~~

On this twentieth day of August one thousand eight hundred and Eleven before me one of the Justices of the Peace in and for said County appears Abraham Albaugh and acknowledges the foregoing Instrument of Writing to be his act and deed according to the true Intent and meaning thereof and the act of Assembly in such case made and provided ~                 Midd’n Smith
