DEED          R. P. Albaugh  et al  to C. P. Dewey

 

Know all men by these presents that we R. P. Albaugh and Sarah E. Albaugh his wife and Andrew Albaugh and Mary Albaugh his wife of the County of Harrison and State of Ohio , in consideration of Twenty five hundred dollars to us paid by C. P. Dewey of the same County and State aforesaid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby Grant, Bargain, Sell and Convey to the said C. P. Dewey his heirs and assigns forever,  The following Real Estate situated in the County of Harrison and State of Ohio and in the Steubenville Land District and bounded and described as follows to wit the being the west half of the Northwest quarter of section number twelve (12) of Township Twelve (12) of Range Six (6) and containing seventy six acres more or less, the same being a tract of land conveyed by Deed by Robert Anderson bearing the date of April 3 A.D. 1872 to the said Samuel Albaugh and R. P. Albaugh and all the Estate Title and Interest of the said R. P. Albaugh and Sarah E. his wife and Anderson Albaugh and Mary his wife, either in Law or Equity, of, in and to the said premises; Together with all the privileges and appurtenances to the same belonging and all the rents, issues and profits thereof.
                To have and to hold the same to the only proper use of the said C. P. Dewey his heirs and assigns forever: And the said R. P. Albaugh and Sarah E. Albaugh his wife and Anderson Albaugh and Mary his wife for themselves and for their heirs executors and administrators, do hereby covenant with the said C. P. Dewey his heirs and assigns that they are the true and lawful owners of the said premises and have full power to convey the same, that the title so conveyed, is clear Free and Unincumbered and further that they will warrant and defend the same against all claim or claims of all persons whomsoever.
                In witness whereof, he said R. P. Albaugh and Sarah E. Albaugh his wife and Andrew Albaugh and Mary Albaugh his wife, hereby release their right and expectancy of Dower in the said premises have hereunto set their hands and seals this 24th day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy seven.

Be it remembered that on this 24th day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy seven before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and for said County personally came R. P. Albaugh and Sarah E. Albaugh his wife and Andrew Albaugh and Mary A. Albaugh his wife the Grantors in the foregoing Deed and acknowledged the signing and sealing thereof to be their voluntary act and deed for the uses and purposes therein mentioned: And the said Sarah E. Albaugh, wife of R. P. Albaugh and Mary Albaugh wife of Andrew Albaugh, wives of the said R. P. Albaugh and Andrew Albaugh, being examined by me separate and apart from their said husbands; and the contents of said Deed being by me made known and explained to them as the Statue directs, declared that they did voluntarily sign seal and acknowledge the same and that they are still satisfied therewith, as their act and deed for the uses and purposes therein mentioned.
